75 Tips for economic collapse preparation ( list )

Today millions of Americans say that they believe that the United States is on the verge of a major economic collapse and that it will soon be entering another Great Depression. Only a small percentage of the same people are prepared for what is about to happen. The sad truth is that the vast majority of people would last a little more than a month on what they have stored up in their homes.

The first and most important item in your economic collapse preparation list is cash at hand followed by getting out of debt, buy gold and silver, if possible move, bug out gear, survival boots, hiking gear, gas mask, bug out tools, self defence items, ammo, swiss army knife, shelter, food, water, communication devices and fuel.

The best way to prepare for an economic collapse is by having valuable metals like gold and silver in the form of coins and bars. My recommendation is to start with a silver coin  Click here to check it out on Amazon.com

Most of us are so used to running out to the supermarket to whatever we need that we never even stop to consider, what would happen if suddenly we are not able to do that. The US economy is starting to stumble about like a drunken frat boy when the economic collapse occurs it will happen quickly and no one will be able to predict it as the signs of imminent collapse is difficult to see.

How would you survive if suddenly you can not rely on the huge international corporate giants to feed, clothe and supply you and your family? Unless you are living in a cave or you are a complete and total mindless follower of the establishment media you should be able to see very clearly that our society is more vulnerable now than ever.

An unprecedented number of large earthquakes around the world and volcanoes all over the world are awakening. You could just take a look at what happened to Haiti and Iceland to see how devastating a natural disaster can be. Not only that but we have a world that is run by lunatics in positions of power and if one of them decides to set off a nuclear, chemical or biological weapon in a major city it could paralyze an entire region.

War can erupt in the Middle East at literally any moment and if it does the price of oil would double or triple. There is a possibility that much of the entire world could be drawn into this conflict. Scientists tell us that a massive high altitude EMP blast could send a large portion of the united states back to the stone age in an instant. In addition, there is a constant threat that the outbreak of a major viral pandemic such as what happened in the 1918 Spanish Flu could kill millions of people around the globe and paralyze the economies of the world.

But even without all the dangers, the truth is that the US economy is going to collapse and think ahead of what could happen to you and your family if this is the case one day. One of the major signs of a full-blown civilizational collapse is an increasingly fragile economy if you want to find out more check out my article Signs of a declining civilization.

The US economy nearly collapsed on September 17, 2008, that is the day when panicked investors withdrew a record 140 billion dollars from money market accounts. That is where businesses keep their money to fund day to day operations. If the withdrawals would have gone on for even a week the entire economy would have halted. If the US economy collapses you will not have access to credit, banks will close which means high demand and low supply.

If the collapse affects local governments and utilities than water and electricity will no longer be available. As people panic, self-defense becomes more important and when that happens things are going to get desperate for many people. Desperate people are known to do desperate things, expect several suicides, higher crime rates this includes street gangs and those who are already employed as career criminals.

With the police spread thin and short-handed street gangs and career criminals are about to have a hay day taking whatever they want from whoever they can. All it would take for the entire US to resemble New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina would be a for a major war, a terror attack, a deadly pandemic or a massive natural disaster to strike at just the right time to push the teetering US economy over the edge.

Cash at hand

Keep some cash at home, while it is not vise keeping all of your money at home you do want to have some cash at hand. If there is an extended bank holiday or if a gigantic burst on the sun causes the ATM machines to go down you want to be able to have enough cash to be able to buy things that your family needs. One way to keep cash safe at home is by storing it in a secret hiding place in your home.

Get out of debt

A lot of people seem to assume that the economic collapse would wipe out all debts but that will probably not be the case. In fact, if you are in a great amount of debt you will be very vulnerable if the economy collapses and you are not able to find a job, just ask the people who were overextended and lost their jobs during the last recession so please get out of debt. Many debt collectors are becoming increasingly ruthless in many areas of the country there are now putting debtors into prison and you do not want to be a slave to debt when the next wave of economic collapse strikes.

Gold and Silver

In the long term, the US dollar is going to lose a tremendous amount of value and inflation is going to absolutely skyrocket. This is the main reason why so many preppers invest very heavily in gold, silver, and other precious metals. All over the world, the central banks of the world are recklessly printing money and everyone knows that is going to end very badly. In fact, there is already a push in more than a dozen US states to allow gold and silver coins to be used as legal tender. If you are wondering how much silver should a prepper have, check out my article How much silver should a prepper have where you will find a simple math equation to approximately calculate how much silver you need per person.

Someday you will be glad that you invested in gold and silver now while the prices are fairly stable and low in comparison of a highly inflated fiat currency would make them cost in the future.

Move away for the big cities if possible, for many people this is simply not possible as many Americans are still completely and totally dependent on their jobs but if you are able now is a good time to move away from the big cities.  Where the next major economic downturn strikes there will be rioting, looting and an increase in crime in the major cities. If you are able to move to amore rural area you will probably be in better shape.

Bug out gear

Warm clothing and hiking gear especially good footwear, if you plan to survive for long in a nightmare economic situation you are probably going to need some warm functional clothing. If you live in a cold climate this is going to mean storing up plenty of blankets and cold weather clothes. If you live in an area where it rains a lot you will need to be sure to store up some rain gear, if you think you may have to survive outdoors in an emergency situation make sure that you and your family have something warm to put on your heads.

Someday after the economy has collapsed and people are scrambling to survive a lot of folks are going to end up freezing to death, in fact in the coldest areas it is actually possible to freeze to death in your own home. Wool sweaters will keep you warm and alive in sub-zero weather even if it is wet, you can get these fairly cheap at thrift stores and military surplus places.

Hiking boots

Hiking boots or comfortable shoes are extremely important when you ask most people to list the necessary items for survival usually this is not the first or second thing that comes to them, but having good hiking boots or very comfortable and functional shoes will be absolutely critical. You may find yourself in a  situation where you and your family must walk everywhere you want to go so how far do you think you will get in high heels.

You want footwear that feels comfortable walking in hours if necessary, you also want one that lasts for a long time because when the economy truly collapses you may not be able to run out to the shoe store and get what you need at that point.

Survival gas mask

This is that one piece of survival gear we always associate with chaos, war, terror and mass destruction events where the air we breathe is not safe, where the air is toxic and deadly. In my opinion way to many survival articles on the web begin pointing out that water is the number one survival need but access to clean abundant breathable air trumps water every single time. While it is a long established fact that you can only survive 3 days without water but you can only survive a few minutes without oxygen.

Bug out tools

Consider investing in a good ax, in the event of a major emergency gathering firewood will be a priority, without a good tool to cut the wood with that would be much more difficult. An ax or more importantly more useful you will also need a good knife with which you can make shelter, get some wood, provide food and make clothing. Other options are a good spade shovel such as a cold steel special forces spade and do not forget to get a sheath for it also.

The cold steel special forces spade is a chefs knife, you can use it:

  • Chopping tool
  • Grappling hook
  • Trenching tool
  • Climbing Aid
  • Wire cutter
  • Can and bottle opener
  • Sword
  • Shield
  • Banding cutters
  • Boat paddles

Self-defense equipment whether it is pepper spray to fend of wild animals or something more robust like a bug out gun, millions of Americans will one day be thankful that they have something to defend themselves with. Also in addition to your self-defense weapon do not forget to stockpile the necessary ammo type for each of your weapons.

Get your ammunition while you still can, your firearms will do you no good if you don’t have enough ammunition for them. Already there are widespread reports of huge ammunition shortages, the following is from a recent CLS news article “the run on ammunition has manufacturers scrambling to accommodate demand and reassure costumers, as many new and seasoned gun owners stock up over fears of new firearms regulations at both the state and the federal levels”.

Don’t just assume that you will be able to always purchase large amounts of ammunition whenever you want, get it now while you still can.

Bug out logistics

A compass and maps to get to your bug out location by several routes, especially back roads and cross country. In the event of a major emergency, you and your family may find yourselves having to be on the move, if you are in a wilderness area it will be very hard to tell what direction you are heading without a compass. It is always a good idea to have at least one compass for each member of your bug out group in case you get separated.

Swiss army knife

If you have ever owned a swiss army knife you probably already know how incredibly handy they can be, it can be a very valuable and versatile tool. In a true survival situation, a Swiss Army knife can literally do dozens of different things for you, make sure that you have at least one stored up for emergencies.

Bug out bag

This can be as simple as a hiking backpack but my favorite is a military surplus backpack as it is a tried and tested item by the US Army. If you can not carry your shelter, tent, water filter, matches, knives, clothing etc you can not travel with them and provide the benefits which these tools have. If you and your family suddenly have to bug out what will you carry all of your survival supplies in, have a good bug out bag for everyone in your family.

If something happens in the city where you suddenly have to bug out what would you put your most important stuff in and how would you carry it all if you have to travel by foot.

You can not sleep on the streets, some people will be able to get by living on the streets but the vast majority of us will need some form of shelter to survive for longer periods of time. What would you do if you and your family lost your home or suddenly are forced to leave your home, where would you go? The best thing to do is to come up with several plans, do you have relatives that you can bunk in within the case of an emergency.

Do you own a tent or and sleeping bags if you have to live in the wilderness, if one day SHTF and you and your family will have to bug out somewhere where would that be?

Clean water

Most people cans survive for a number of weeks without food but without water, you will die in just a few days. Where would you get water if the water supply suddenly stopped flowing out of your taps, is there an abundant supply of clean water near your home and would you be able to boil water if you need to. Besides storing water and figuring out how to get to gather water if society breaks down another thing is to consider is water purification tablets.

The water you are able to gather during a time of crisis may not be suitable for drinking and you may find that water purification tablets come in very handy. Water filter bottles, pumps and gravity water filters are must-haves for any prepper.

Lighters and matches

You will want something to start a fire with, if you can start a fire you can cook food, boil water and you can stay warm so in a true emergency situation how do you plan to start a fire, by rubbing sticks together? Now is the time to stock on lighters and matches and this way you will be prepared when you really need them. In addition, you may want to consider storing a good supply of candles as these are very useful once the power goes out.

When the power goes off in your home what is the first thing that you grab and in most cases is the flashlight or the lantern. In a major emergency, a flashlight or a later is going to be necessary especially if you need to go anywhere at night. Solar powered or cranked style flashlights or lanterns will probably be your best options during a long term emergency. If you have battery-powered units you will want to begin storing up lots of batteries.

A bug out bag or bug out vehicle should have 72 hours of food as food is going to instantly become one of the most valuable commodities in exitance in the events of an economic collapse. If you do not have food you are not going to survive, most American families could not last much longer than a month on what they have in their house right now. If disaster struck right now how long could you survive on what you have, the truth is that we all need to start storing up food.

If you and your family run out of food you will suddenly find yourselves competing with the hoards of hungry people who are looting the stores and roaming the streets looking for something to eat. You can also grow your own food but that is going to take some time so you need to have enough food stored up until the food that you have planted has time to grow.

When the economy totally collapses the remaining seeds will disappear very quickly so if you are planning to use seeds at your bug out location now is the time to buy them.

Grow food

You need to learn how to grow your own food, this is a skill that many Americans possessed in the past but that most Americans today have forgotten. Growing your own food in a way to become more independent of the system and it is a good way to get prepared for what lies ahead.

First aid kit

A first aid kit and other medical supplies as in a more serious crisis you may not be able to access hospitals or a doctor. In your survival supplies be absolutely certain that you have a good first aid kit and any other medical supplies that you think you may need. Antibiotics will be extremly valuable assets, as companies begin to fall there will be a limited amount of antibiotics which you could find if you want to know how to get a lot of antibiotics without a prescription check out my article How to get antibiotics for prepping.

Vitamin supplements

A lot of preppers do not think about vitamins but this is very important as these days it is becoming increasingly difficult to get adequate nutrition from foods that we eat. That is why it is very important to have a good stockpile of vitamins and other supplements.

Pro tip: Make sure to check with a doctor in what vitamins and minerals your lack of so you can also add these to ur supply.

If a major crisis does hit the United States what will you and your family need, among the basic things you will want to know what is happening during the crisis scenario. A radio can be an invaluable tool for keeping up with the news, solar-powered or crank-style radios will probably work best for the long run. A battery-powered radio will also work but only as long as your batteries are able to last. Not all HAM radios are well suited for SHTF events if you want to know which ones I do recommend, check out my article Best ham radio for preppers.

When the shit is going to hit the fan you are going to want to communicate with your family and friends, you will also want to be able to contact an ambulance or law enforcement if necessary. Having an emergency cell phone is great but it may or may not work during a time of crisis, the internet also may or may not work so be sure to have a plan on how you will communicate with others.

Personal Hygiene Items

While some preppers do not consider this as an absolute essential for their bug out bag the truth is life will get very unpleasant very quickly without them, and without your daily hygiene routine you may end up getting ill or get some minor scar infected. Just think about what would you do without something as simple as toilet paper. You can also use instead of toilet paper a lab irrigation bottle which is fairly cheap and since most families spend around $100 on toilet paper it will pay for itself in the long run.

Even if you buy a lab irrigation bottle for each of your family members you are still saving money. The truth is that soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, and other hygiene products are things that we completely take for granted in society today.

Special Needs

Don’t forget the special needs of your children and pets as you are storing supplies.

Sewing Kit

If you are not able to run out and buy new clothes for you and your family you will have to be able to repair the clothes that you have and try to make them last as long as possible. Without a good sewing kit, this will be very difficult to do.

There may come a day where gasoline is rationed or simply not available at all so make sure that you have extra gasoline stored away just in case you find yourself really needing to get somewhere during a crisis situation.

Backup plan

This is really your first step and priority, have back up plans to get to your bug out location. Always have a backup plan when prepping, if someone steals all your food supplies, if your bug out vehicle breaks down or for some reason, the bug out location is not accessible, take all these things into consideration. If you have built your house as a fortress but the crisis situation force you to leave you should have an alternative bug out location.

Crisis situations rarely unfold just as we envision them, it is very important to flexible and to be ready with back up plans whenever disaster strikes, you don’t want to end up like the people in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and you do not want by any means to rely on the government to take care or you if something really bad happens.

Prepper community

Travel as a community or and up in a community in your bug out location, preferably these should be also preppers. During a long term crisis, those that are willing to work together will have the best chance to survive this can be any group of your local church, family, friends or fellow preppers. Make sure that you have some people that you can rely on and work together within an SHTF event.

Loners are going to have a really hard time of surviving for long.

Keep your prepping to yourself as the OPSEC requires, do not go around and tell everyone in your area where you live that you are a prepper. If you do you may find yourself overwhelmed by visitors when everything falls apart. Prepping is something that you want to keep to yourself unless you want a mass of desperate people banging on your door in an SHTF situation.

How to prepare for economic collapse

If you are asking yourself if you can survive an economic collapse then the short answer is “yes” and today I will show you my preparations for economic collapse, what will be your best investments as a prepper for a world without money. Society may collapse and there will be chaos but just as in the past people will find a way when there is no currency people will rely on bartering.

Silver is one of the best items which you can use to trade with, my recommendation is to get silver coins instead of bullion due to their ease of use Click here to check price on Amazon.com

Approx 1000 years ago when the Roman empire was starting to fall apart they had to withdraw their armies from the British islands. As the British islands have been subjugated for several centuries they got accustomed to the Roman way of life which included currency. Imagine what their shock was when one day the Roman army packed up and left, all the people which had money found their coins to be worthless and many buried their money in hopes that the Roman empire will come back but it never did.

The term “prepper” is somebody that wants to be self-sufficient in the event of a disaster, loss of services, loss of government, the breakdown of society, nuclear holocaust etc. Any natural or man-made disaster that will leave most average people screwed is what you are getting ready for as a prepper. As a prepper you want to be able to protect your home your family, you want to be able to eat and drink. Basically to do everything you need to survive on a daily basis and preferably to be able to make gains for a world without currency as most people will be unprepared.

Smart investments are where you take your money, your goods, and services, whatever you might offer for the good of the group and you invest them into things that will either make you more money or even help someone out. There are a lot of kinds of investments, but most of us preppers don’t have big amounts of money so we need to invest very smartly.

The below list of items are for people with a limited amount of money because let’s face it, it is a tough economy and most of us don’t have money to throw out the window. The prepper should put money in items that are going to benefit him directly. I don’t believe in investing in some invisible number on the stock market which overnight can simply vanish if there is a disaster or other emergency situation.

Invest in tangible items that you can pack up, carry with you and trade it for other items you might need.

My most important tip for you in what to invest is to think about the value to weight ratio, the higher its value and the lower its weight the better it is so this way you can carry it around with you.

When you think of investing your first investment should be in Bullion, this is an excellent example on in what to invest as this will keep its value even after an economic collapse. As for what kind of bullion it should be either gold or silver if you don’t have enough money for gold go for the silver as it is much cheaper. You can invest in silver dollars as these are easy to carry and have a high value to weight ratio. In an economic collapse, these coins will have value as during the bartering phase silver and gold coins will still be a limited resource which not a lot of people have. The fewer people have it the richer it makes you.

Another benefit of these coins is that they are tangible, it is an oz of silver/gold, it is either an oz of silver/gold or not. The dollar might lose its value or in the case of economic collapse, it won’t worth anything as there is nothing to back it up.

Economically speaking for a prepper silver bullion is a great investment you can buy these for around $50

This will be an excellent item to trade especially if you can grow it on your own. If not consider investing in dried foods or rice. Dried foods in powder form would be easier to carry but it will be hard to carry on foot as much for eating plus trading. As for rice if you have the storage capacity buy white rice it is less nutrient-rich than the brown rice but it will last you for years. Brown rice is more nutritious but goes bad in approx 6 months.

Weapon cases

This is also an excellent investment when you look at the amount of money you spend on your vices like smoking, drinking or eating out when instead you could invest that money. This is a much better investment than your vices as it doesn’t burn up, float away, it is something that you can hold on to for the rest of your life.

Investing in weapon cases is much better than investing in some stock as you can use it either yourself or for trading it.

It isn’t important of what kind you get but as how much of them you can get as there will be a big demand for ammunition. Altho keep in mind the value to weight ratio especially if you need to carry it in your bug out bag. It is always good to have of around 10 bricks of ammo on hand at all times and more if you have a bug out vehicle. Don’t have thousands and thousands of rounds of ammunition if you do not have the possibility to transport it especially if you have to take off in a hurry as it is most often in emergency cases.

In addition to trading, you can use the ammo to hunt with it or to defend yourself.

It doesn’t matter if you reload or not, this won’t be a cheap investment as a standard brick of primer is going to cost you. But in a disaster situation hand loaders will be very useful as there won’t be an industry up for the loading of ammunition. Some people might have enough gunpowder and even a hand loader but the primers will be difficult to find if you didn’t prep well enough.

You should keep around 10k primers for each weapon type you have from small pistols to large rifles.

This is a good item to trade with but due to its high-risk factor, I advise you not to invest in it. If you have some demolition license and have the know-how and means than and only then consider investing in it.

Hand loader

If you own a hand loader than any of the components for it is going to be a good investment such as primers, powder, and projectiles. Save all your brass, keep all your dials in good shape.

More and more people these days are getting into handloading mostly because they re saving money and they are shooting more for their given budget. But most importantly you become more self-sufficient. The whole thing about being a prepper is about investing in being self-sufficient.

If you can afford in having multiple weapons that are easy to carry and to store, it will give you the ability to defend yourself and trade it for other useful items. Just like owning a sword in the ancient times was expensive, pistols too will cost a lot more in a crisis situation of which you may even benefit. for someone that is not prepared and doesn’t have a weapon, your weapon will be like a brick of gold for him.

In a situation where there is a loss of power, electronic devices will need some sorts of power. Batteries are the most efficient way to carry energy with you just make sure you store them correctly as with time they can bloat and even explode making them a fire hazard.

Fire making tools

There are a lot of ways to make a fire some primitive and some more advanced. Equipment like matches, lighters, and flints are an excellent investment especially the flints as they can give you hundreds of sparks with which you can start your fire.

The following investments will cost you a lot of money but will make you self sufficient and even keep using some technology

  1. Alternative power sources like solar energy, if you have the financial ability to invest in these go for it as it will benefit once you set it up making you will be able to live off the grid.
  2. Rechargeable batteries
  3. Alternative water sources and purification, some people might be lucky to live nearby a natural spring. Here you can set up your own water purification system, it is fairly easy and it is renewable. Once you set it up correctly it will serve you for a long time.

The most important resource in what you should invest

  1. Learn the neighboring area, information is the key the more you know of your area the better off you will be.
  2. Know where you can find water sources, you can go without water for 3 days at the maximum so finding these water sources will be essential for your survivability.
  3. Know where you can set up camp, depending on the disaster you have just survived you should know where it is safe to set up camp.
  4. Have the ability to make fire, there are some very primitive ways you can make fire with just a couple of sticks, learn it even if you have loads of fire starting equipment as you never know what might happen
  5. Learn how to grow some crops for the long run, have some grains and beans with you so you can plant these seeds.
  6. Learn how to fish without a rod and with only what you can find in nature.
  7. Learn how to hunt and set up traps
  8. Learn how to smoke and salt meat to preserve it longer
  9. Learn to defend yourself and your family
  10. Learn the local flora and fauna, knowing what kind of plant you can and can not eat could be life-saving
  11. Know how to dispose of your waist without attracting predators

Survival items you forgot to buy

You probably know all about the basics in case of a disaster like water, food, first aid kit etc but it has been found out that during disasters even the hardcore survivalists can overlook things. I will list several items that you may have forgotten to buy or probably thought they were not important. This list is comprehensive and for everything on this list that you already have give yourself a pat on the back.

Most people rely on google maps for information but a paper map never stops working especially in areas where there is no reasonable connection.

Playing cards, crossword puzzles, jigsaws, board games and other common types of games that do not require a lot of energy can be a great way of passing the time and the source of joy especially for those who have children.

If you wear glasses make sure you have a backup and some repair kits to repair them if they get damaged.

Instant coffee

For those who love coffee like me, the lack of coffee can easily drive one crazy especially if your coffee pot won’t turn on, by having instant coffee you will reduce the stress.

Paper plates

This is an excellent substitute for dishes especially if there is a water shortage since you don’t have to wash them.

Glow sticks

This will be ur alternative light source especially when there is a power shortage, you can easily use these to find your way in a dark room.

Hand sanitizers

For a significant disaster, a water shortage can be very prevalent leading to sanitation problems and to stay germ-free hand sanitizers are a fast and efficient alternative.

It is advisable to carry safety goggles both safety and water googles as you never know what might happen.

Pencil and paper

These are some of the times that one will remember in their lives and also tell the stories to their grandchildren so a pen and pencil plus your journal will do you a great favor.

Candy is a great morale booster under challenging times so having them will be beneficial to your well being physically and psychologically.

It will be easier for you to grow a few plants and flowers in a pot instead of growing them directly in the ground.

Pet supplies

Always remember to carry enough supplies that will sustain your pets for a reasonable amount of time, the amount should be based on the type of pets and the amount of food they need per day.

Plastic sheeting

These are very helpful in collecting water, repairing leaks, keeping out contaminants etc.

This is an easy way to kill a small animal for food.

These have several uses and remember that in a disaster you will not be able to get new ones.

Shut off wrench

This is very important especially if you use gas power since a broken gas line is very dangerous.

Powdered juice mix

You will need this especially for those that are quickly bored of drinking room temperature water.

Powdered butter and eggs

It is surprising that many recipes require butter or eggs, these foods are difficult to store for an extended period so try to carry the powdered variety.

With acoustic instruments, songbooks are essential for entertainment and morale-boosting.

These will help you keep your items dry and provide shade.

Survival books

You will need survival books to act as a reference and as a guide in various situations.

Make sure you have a good and functioning umbrella for yourself and several others for your family.

Ziplock bags

These are great for keeping your things safe, dry and well organized.

Wind up clocks

By having these you will not have to waste batteries.

Vehicle escape tools

If you get involved in a severe vehicle accident these tools will help you cut through the seat belt and break the glass if you can not open them.

These are great tools that can be lifesavers if one is in danger or to connect people if they are lost.

Yard bags

Ensure that you have some heavy duty bags for all the trash that accumulates during the emergency period.

Acoustic instruments

They will help you entertain yourself and also boost your morale.

Aluminum foil

This is very helpful in a wide variety of things like boiling water, cooking food, enhancing antenna, keeping the sunlight out and other uses.

Baby wipes

This is an easy way to keep everything clean.

Playing balls

Different kinds of playing balls are one of the most effective ways of getting rid of boredom and keeping up your morale in bad times.

Bicycle gear

If gasoline is in short supply you might need your bike to travel around and this means that you will need some bike gears like the pump.

It is complicated to read by candlelight and you don’t want to drain your flashlights and for those who like reading book lights are cheap and some are even solar powered.

Car chargers

It is very sad to get stuck somewhere with a dead phone so it is always advisable for one to carry car chargers because you might find yourself in places where there is no electricity. If possible hold a back up battery in case your car won’t start.

After the shift, you may be surprised by the amount of free time that you will have and this might be the best moment to read some books.

You will always have to track the dates in case the power is out for a long time and carrying a calendar will be very beneficial.

Bug sprays

After any disaster, there is always a sanitation challenge especially if there is insufficient water as this attracts more roaches and other critters.

Cloth diapers

Other than their regular use you can also use them for cleaning due to their absorbent nature.

Most people are accustomed to eating their meals with condiments and for most of us eating without condiments can be too dull.

Cloth liens and pins

In this set up your dryer will be a waste of space and without your washing machine, it will be difficult keeping your clothes clean.

These are accommodating and can be used when hunting with firearms but they also help you sleep better at night.

This is more important than your toothbrush when it comes to dental hygiene.

Doorstop alarms

These will help you since looters and burglars taking advantage of the chaos cannot get into your house without you being alerted.

Duct Tape

This is a must have for any prepper due to its numerous ways of usage.

Final Note

Sadly most Americans have blind faith that our leaders actually know what are they doing and that they will be able to fix things for the better. Most Americans are still convinced that everything is going to be just fine and the mainstream media does all that they can to reinforce faith in the system.
